The world is set against you, will you lose it all? Or hold up to rationalism amidst the twisted facts and humbug arguments? The only way out is to race the writer and debater in you in a ‘Journalistic Style’. Unleash the adroit candor to defend it all, and stand against the scandalous reports to be heard. Gear up to ponder over the issues in and around us to make the event intellectually enchanting. ‘The Press Quest 2017’ is all set to incite the unconventionally conventional journalist within you.
Round 1 (Elimination Round)
- Each team will consist of 4 members.
- Each team will draft a newsletter which shall contain stories on political, social and economic issue with an editorial column in it
- Participants will be provided with a MS word template and pictures
- Use of mobile or any reference material is prohibited
- Time limit- 90 minutes
- Each team must carry at least one laptop
- Teams will be judged on the basis of:
Content Overall presentation Authenticity of the facts Grammar
Round 2 (Final Round)
- 8 teams will qualify for the final round.
- On day 1, qualifying teams will be given a case study on any topic
- 2 teams will be given same case study on which they will have different stances.
- On the next day, news room debate and panel discussion will be conducted, based on the case studies givenJudges, other teams and the audience will be allowed to question the panel, once the panel discussion ends
- Max Time per panel- 30 minutes
- Judgement Criteria:
Relevance and clarity of the content Presentation Justification, reasoning and persuasiveness Rationality Creativity Criticism raised Explanation to the questions asked
