Is it the repercussions of a wrong choice that will resonate forever as a chance at peace slips away or is it a compromise they do with a few for the larger good? To find out will take guts, as you battle between morals and pragmatism, between risking it all to win big or settling to lose small. Get ready to face the exciting journey of a mock parliament which will provide you an opportunity to engage in the policy making process and to test your diplomatic skills, persuasiveness, communication skills and ingenuity. Get ready to experience State of the Nation – 2017.

Round 1 (Elimination Round)

  • The registered participants will receive a background guide which will acquaint the participants with the topic selected for the bill
  • After going through the topic the participants are required to submit a write up of up to 150-200 words sharing their views on the topic by a given date
  • Based on their entries, participants will be selected for Round 2
  • Round 2

    • Qualifying teams will be allotted real life political parties and figures which will be based partly on the write up and party on the discretion of the organizer
    • The final draft of the bill which will be debated upon in the house will be mailed to the participants 2 days before the event
    • The above mentioned draft will then be further discussed and debated on the final day in the house
    • On the basis of the debate among various parties, the bill will further be passed or rejected in the houseNotes:
    • The participants may dress up like their respective politicians
    • Plan of action, judgment criteria, and parliamentary proceedings of the event will be duly mailed to the qualifying teams
    • The process mentioned in the document may vary from the actual process of the parliament
    • This event is an individual event and not a team event
    • There is no cap on the number of participants that can participate in the event. Though the participants are required to cross check the time table beforehand for any clashes with the other events the participant may be participating in
    • OTSE is not permitted
